Best Things To Do In Dubai With An Active Family
Dubai is an incredible destination for active families as there is so much to do here. There are endless activities for active families to experience in Dubai, from indoor skiing and sand-boarding down desert dunes to water sports and water parks. We’ve spent a fair bit of time in Dubai and can tell you this; it is one of the most family-friendly cities we’ve visited.
Below, you’ll find some of our favourite activities in Dubai for active families that are great for all ages:
Ski Dubai - Great For All Ages
Who would’ve thought you could go skiing in the middle of the desert?! Nothing is off-limits in the beautiful city that is Dubai! Located in the Mall of the Emirates, Ski Dubai is an indoor winter wonderland covering 22,500 square metres and houses around 6,000 tonnes of real snow!
It has five different slopes of varying difficulty. The longest slope is 400 metres with a drop of 60 metres so the more confident skiers in the family. The smaller slopes are great for learners and your littlest of ones. If your little ones aren’t into skiing, they can hang out in the Snow Park, complete with bobsled runs, toboggan hills, and even spaces for them to build snowmen! There really is something for everyone to enjoy here!
Ski Dubai is an excellent place to take your kids who love being active! Prices start from £50 (Snow Daycation Pass) or £100 (Snow Premium Pass). Please note, the minimum age for entry is three years old.
Kite Beach - Great For Kids Aged 15-18
If you’re a family who love spending time being active outdoors, then Kite Beach is the place to head to whilst in Dubai! We love Kite Beach because it’s such an amazing place to hang out for the day and introduce the kids to something they may have never done before!
As the name suggests, Kite Beach is located just off the Jumeriah neighbourhood and is the place to go for kite-surfing. However, if you want to keep your feet planted on the ground then there are also many other activities on offer, such as beach volleyball, beach tennis, kayaking, and loads more!]
Desert Safari - Great For All Ages
No matter how old your children are, a trip to Dubai isn’t complete without heading to the desert. There are quite a few tour companies that offer desert safaris such as Platinum Heritage Dubai, which has great reviews and loads of options available. There are loads of options when it comes to choosing your desert safari with the most popular including camel rides, sandboarding and a Bedouin camp experience.

Visit A Waterpark - Great For All Ages
Dubai is home to some of the best water parks in the world and we would recommend you visit at least one of them whilst you’re there. The three main parks are Wild Wadi, Atlantis Aquaventure & Laguna Waterpark and offer rides for all ages.
Wild Wadi, located in the Jumeirah neighbourhood, has over 30 rides, a wave simulator, and even a lazy river to float down. On some of the higher rides you’ll also get great views of the city and out over the coast.
Atlantis Aquaventure, located at the Atlantis Hotel, also has over 30 slides and attractions to suit all ages. However, Atlantis offers a little more than the other parks as it features a state of the art aquarium where you can swim with dolphins and dive or snorkel with an amazing selection of marine life.
Laguna Waterpark is located right on the beach and just like the other waterparks in Dubai, offers water fun for all the family. It has 4 distinct zones featuring 18 rides as well as a dedicated area for your youngest.

Aventura Parks - Great For Kids Aged 11-14
Finally, if both you and your kids love being active outdoors, especially if your kids are pre-teens, then make sure to head to Aventura Parks. Located in Mushrif Park, Aventura Parks is an obstacle course where you and your kids can let loose by zip-lining through trees, rock climbing, and even conquering the Tarzan jump! There’s a range of different obstacles available for all ages so there is something for everyone to enjoy.
The minimum height for kids is 1.05 metres. If your child/children are under 1.05 metres, they must be accompanied by an adult. A general admission tickets allows you and your kids to spend three hours exploring all of the various obstacles on offer. Ticket prices start from £30 (children shorter than 1.4 metres) and £37 (children taller than 1.4 metres).
No matter what people may tell you, take it from us as parents who’ve taken our children to Dubai, it is one of the most family-friendly cities in the world, and has so many activities on offer. Whether you want to spend your day indoors skiing in the middle of the desert or actually head out to the desert, and with prices suited to all budgets, you won’t be stuck for things to do in Dubai.
