All the latest inspiration and guidance for help you plan your next family hoilday

Paris is up there in my top places in the world to eat. I would travel to Paris just for the food. But when you have kids with you, that long lunch with a carafe of wine and a newspaper in hand feels like something of the past. In Paris, not so much. I found my kids drifting into a food coma every time we ate anywhere, just long enough to steal in that oh so important glass of vino to accompany the oh so delicious food!

Here are 5 ideas of where to eat in Paris with kids in tow:

1. Le Royal Bourse Opera

11 Rue du 4 septembre, 75002 Paris
+33 (0)1 42 92 00 00

Le Royal Bourse Opera is a great little bistro near Opera & Galerie Lafayette. It’s full of french people, so bring along a french phrases book if you’re worried about communicating or just get used to pointing a lot as the waiters/waitresses don’t speak great english. If you can get over that though, the food is divine. They do reasonably priced dishes with daily specials (e.g. chicken and couscous) and the most heavenly desserts. The profiteroles went down a storm.

2. Les Flottes

2 Rue Cambon, 75001 Paris
+33 (0)1 42 60 80 89

Les Flottes is very conveniently situated near to the Louvres and behind the Ritz (if you fancy doing some window shopping in the Ritz arcade on your way there, I highly recommend it, lots of sparkly things for the kids to stare at!). We loved Les Flottes. Great attentive service and the brioche hamburger was very well received!

3. Carette Place du Tertre

7 Place du Tertre, 75018 Paris

This is a super cute creperie in a lovely square called Place du Tertre behind the Sacre Coeur. A great place to grab a bite to eat to keep you motivated for the walk down the hill.

4. Les Arlots

136 Rue du Faubourg Poissonnière, 75010 Paris
+33 (0)1 42 82 92 01

A lovely French bistrot near the Gard du Nord and perfect for either arrival lunch or departure dinner if you are getting the Eurostar. Authentic french cuisine and great service will keep the adults & the kids happy!

5. A. Lacroix Pâtissier

1 Quai de Montebello, 75005 Paris
+33 (0)1 74 64 14 86

If you are near Notre Dame, stop by this cafe and sample their delicious croissants and hot chocolate. It will give you the fuel you need to continue your day sightseeing for sure!
